Retrieving remote RSS feeds

I'd like to be able to retrieve remote RSS feeds and use them to build page content. I could do this with javascript, but I'd like the content to be cached. Is this possible already with Locomotive or would I be looking at extending it in some way?

You have the tag consume which go looking for an external ressource : http://www.locomotivecms.com/support/liquid/contents
From the document it said that it cache the content, so that seem to be a perfect fit.
Example (from the doc) :
{% consume blog from 'http://blog.locomotivecms.com/api/read/json?num=3&type=text', expires_in: 3000 %}

Could someone give me an hand to parse XML get from rss feed (i.e. when the content you get is not json) ?
I have to make an array with items ? (how ?)
